When to Get a Wheel Alignment

How do you know when your vehicle needs a wheel alignment? This is a question our customers often ask us, so here a few signs to look out for that indicate your vehicle probably needs an alignment:

  1. Vibration in your steering wheel
  2. A constant pulling to one side when driving
  3. Uneven tyre wear – Check your tyres for edge wear
  4. When driving straight your steering wheel does not return to centre
  5. You have recently hit a curb or large pothole at speed
  6. You haven’t had an alignment in over a year – It’s good practice to get your alignment checked annually.

If you purchase new tyres we would definitely recommend an alignment. This helps your tyres wear evenly and ultimately last longer – saving you money in the long run.

Why is it important to get your wheels aligned?

The short answer:

Having your wheels correctly aligned will help keep your vehicle safer on the road.

Poorly aligned wheels increase the risk of accidents through:

  1. Driver fatigue – A vehicle that is constantly pulling or vibrating can tire you out
  2. Uneven breaking caused by uneven tyre wear
  3. Increased difficulty when cornering
  4. Tyre blow outs due to uneven tyre wear

Keep yourself and others safe on the roads by getting a wheel alignment every 12 months or 12,000 kms.
